About us
Mad Squirrel’s latest venture is at Berkhamsted Cricket Club.
Located just a few minutes walk from Berkhamsted train station and the town centre, it is situated in the Chiltern countryside with stunning views across the cricket pitch and rolling hills.
The cricket club has a spacious clubhouse, a large outdoor decking area overlooking the cricket pitch and countryside, and ample parking for visitors. The Mad Squirrel bar stocks all the favourites such as Sumo, Zealous and Hopfest as well as cider, spirits and soft drinks and snacks. The Mad Squirrel kitchen serves artisan pizza, smash burgers and much more. As well as catering for the Cricket Club, the space is also available for private hire.
This is a project in its infancy and we are very excited to see this venue develop!
Opening times
The Mad Squirrel bar and kitchen is closed to the public through the winter season, but it is still available for Private Hire and Events.
Full opening times for the Spring / Summer seasons will be confirmed shortly - watch this space!
The bar is open to everyone so come along for a drink anytime!
We serve a selection of Mad Squirrel beers on tap, all brewed locally in Potten End. We have our Core Range on tap and some limited release beers on rotation. We also serve a variety of other drinks including wine, spirits and soft drinks.
Love our beers and want to take some home? Cans and mini kegs and casks are available to buy online for delivery straight to your home.

We also serve food. Why not join us for brunch (when)? We also offer a selection of freshly made, hand rolled, made to order pizzas, smash burgers and a selection of sides (when)
Note that the kitchen is open Thursday - Sunday in the spring / summer season

We are here to support the Cricket Club, and on match days, we provide catering for the cricket teams. There is a three tiered set price menu available to order. Please contact us if you are interested in taking advantage of this option. Pre-ordering is required.
